ADCCommunity is a not-for-profit community programme serving the Wolfville & Annapolis Valley areas of Nova Scotia, Canada. ADCCommunity was initiated in 2004 by the executive of the Acadia Dance Collective at Acadia University to create dance & physical activity opportunities for community members. Organisers also wanted to create work experience & community integration opportunities for the Acadia University students that serve as the instructors for this programme. ADCCommunity organisers also sought to make dance lessons financially accessible to community members and in 2006 became not-for-profit. Despite the 2008 fire that left ADCCommunity without most resources, it continues to maintain participation fees at the lowest possible financial cost. ADCCommunity continues to seek to provide lessons in dance & movement to community members of all ages, skill levels, & abilities. In this way, and in addition to the more widely known styles such as jazz, ballet, and hiphop, we also feature classes in adaptive dance, adult dance, partner dance & stretch, and even a class for 'Just the Boys' - and our Acro class is equally as popular! A deposit must be received in order to secure enrollment in any class. Please read our Policies page (also where terms & conditions of participation can be found) prior to emailing with questions. ***** Ballet Workshop Opportunity with Larissa Law! Tuesday, August 24th 4:30-6:30pm & 7-7:30pm Pointe Take advantage of Larissa’s classical ballet expertise before she heads to England! Larissa has made considerable contributions to ADCCommunity and although we are so sad to see her go, we are so thankful to have had her as part of the team since 2006 and wish her all the best! Larissa will meet with students one last time to share her skills. Larissa’s greatest strengths include working with students to develop personal training plans that will further their technical and classical development in dance. Open to current ballet students from any dance school with at least 5 years ballet experience and students of Larissa and/or ADCCommunity. Ballet (4:30-6:30): $35 Ballet with Pointe (4:30-6:30, break, 7-7:30 Pointe): $40. Register by Email. Payment due upon Registration. Registration Closed August 21st. Space is limited. ***** Breakdance Opportunity with Concrete Roots Saturday November 20th! 10am-3pm Schedule Subject to Change; Must have adequate registration; More classes can be added! Open to anyone! Levels Included: Beginner: no experience in dance. Intermediate: Some experience in dance. Advanced: much experience in dance. Special Group: book this now! Payment due upon Registration. Space is limited. Register by November 15th. Each session is 60mins offered at various levels. $15 per session. Register by Email. 10-11am: Beginner ages 3-7 No dance experience. *****
